Hey guys, I am Will from Midland, Texas. I am currently a sophomore at TCU and a Communications major. I am also an working on a Business minor. When I arrived at TCU last semester I walked on to the golf team and I am starting my fourth semester on the team. My other interests other than golf include hunting and fishing. I have always enjoyed the outdoors because it allows me to get away. Last semester I took English 10803 with Dr. Thapa and enjoyed our final essay which was an argument essay so I took this class. I consider myself as a writer who needs improvement and I am looking to improve. I have always enjoyed writing but I would not consider myself a good writer. I think this course will help me improve my writing skills and help me become a better writer. I have also read, understand, and agree to the terms of the syllabus, which I see as a contract for our course.

The plain background tells me this is a guy. You like time to yourself based on the sports and activities that interest you the most such as golf, hunting and fishing- all of which leave a lot of time to keep to your own thoughts. When I think of Midland I think of Wrangler jeans and an outdoorsy kind of guy, so that is how I picture you. You don't really get into your personal thoughts, dreams or desires which could maybe indicate that you are shy or reserved. You are to the point and got the assignment done and there is little color and no picture on your profile. You don't like a lot of "froo-froo" in your life and are just to the point. You might have chose green and orange as your accent colors because of your love of the outdoors and hunting and fishing.
ReplyDeleteHi Will,
ReplyDeleteWelcome to the course! I'm glad to have you with us and am looking forward to your continue participation in the classroom. I'm glad that you enjoyed your previous English class at TCU-- if the argument assignment was your favorite, you'll certainly enjoy some of our future assignments. As I was reading your letter of introduction, I was wondering what kinds of writing you do currently and even how you could see those types of composition translating into your work for this course.
